Why BIPOCXChange?

The Multicultural Media & Correspondents Association (MMCA) believes that the media diversity crisis has serious economic, social and political implications and our mission is to fix it by increasing Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) media ownership by helping them be successful. BIPOCXChange is a digital platform designed to foster investments, partnerships, collaboration, impact and sustainability of BIPOC Stakeholders in the media ecosystem by bringing together BIPOC Media stakeholders and entities wanting to invest, support, partner or do business with BIPOC Media stakeholders.

Powering Media Diversity, Equity, and Innovation

Six years ago, MMCA created a platform for like-minded BIPOC media stakeholders and allies to work together to eliminate barriers, help each other improve business outcomes, and to advocate for more equity and more opportunities for BIPOC ownership in the media ecosystem.

BIPOC XChange was Built With BIPOC Publishers In Mind

We are excited to take our platform to the next level in 2022 with the launch of our BIPOC Xchange—a proprietary platform that will allow us to scale our efforts to foster investments, partnerships, collaboration, impact and sustainability of BIPOC Stakeholders in the media ecosystem. By making it easier for us to collaborate, we will have more clout, more impact, more resources and a greater ability to control who, what, where, when, and how our story is told.

"It is past time to get serious and stop overlooking the critical need for diverse and local media to help people better understand the complex world in which we live. Stories told with a local lens – and with cultural competency – can help to break down walls of prejudice and ignorance, and help regulate some of our undemocratic tendencies."
